Introducing our first Tallow Soap! Woodland Fern smells a walk in the woods on a sunny day with a surprise hint or two of floral. Unlike our other outdoorsy soaps (Pacific Northwest, Indigo Mountain), this bar is less woods/pine/smoke, and more green leaf, fig, jasmine, and lily of the valley.
Tallow is rendered animal fat, usually derived from beef, but also potentially from sheep or deer. When used in soap it creates an absolutely luxurious lather, and cleanses well without drying. We are excited to share that our double-purified tallow is locally sourced from Double Brook Farm in Hopewell, NJ. Double Brook Farm's cows are pasture raised on a 100% grass diet. Home to one of only two USDA certified on-site slaughterhouses in the country, Double Brook Farm is able to ensure a more humane process for the animal than traditional farms. Want to know more?
